Eating in Tuscany is as dreamy as it's reputation. The pasta in la Toscana is the best of the best. One famous types of pasta that comes from the region is the Pici pasta, it's hard to find outside of Tuscany, so you better try it while you're there. Their desserts often consist of Cantucci with Vin Santo or the Torta de la Nonna, both originally from Tuscany. Their is a lot of wild boar found in the Tuscan region, you will also see that mixed into the pasta on several menus, it's called chinghale, and it's delicious! As well as those dishes Tuscany is very famous for using a lot of Truffle in their cooking, I know, amazing, you really can't go wrong, the more truffle the better.

One thing you should know is that the Tuscans don't cook with a lot of salt. It's mainly noticed in the bread. Now, I don't love eating food in general with a lot of salt and even I am not crazy about saltless bread, before you go thinking the bread is stale, it's not.

Down below I will recommend my favorite restaurants in Siena, Florence, and in some of Tuscany's countryside towns.

Check out the Nightlife section to find out where to have an aperitivo.

Siena

Eating in Siena is amazing, as is eating in all of Tuscany. After visiting Siena a few summers in a row I have explored and narrowed down my favorite places within the old city.

Florence

The magical city of Florence. As imagined, the food is amazing. But most importantly I have a message for all of my gelato lovers out there. From gelato lover to gelato lover the best ice cream in the world is in this city.
