should you book?
what is cloudbreak?
Cloudbreak is a shorebreak located in Tavarua, Fiji. The wave can range anywhere from 2-20 feet. It's home to the Fiji Pro surf competition. The break is there because of a coral reef located under it, the locals say you can snorkel, I didn't...but if you're crazy enough go for it!
what do you do at cloudbreak?

Surf

Snorkel (apparently, local recommendation)
what to bring
It's a wave/surf spot, no need to book. The only thing you need to sort out is the boat that will be taking you out. It would also be a good idea to check the reports to make sure you're going out on a good day.
price
Well worth it, our hotel took us out for $20 FJD ($10 USD). It's not very far away but it can take a while to get there depending on the size of the waves.
-
Surfboard, if you're going to surf, and a bathing suit
-
A camera! It's definitely worth recording this beautiful sight.
-
If you want to snorkel, bring your gear. We brought ours but didn't get in.
-
There is nothing there but surfers and waves so bring a snack or water if you're someone who's always hungry. It can get a little rocky out there, if you're prone to seasickness something to help with that might be a good idea.
food
is it worth it?
Absolutely! One of our biggest adventures in the three weeks in Fiji was the day at Cloudbreak. It's spectacular to see the wave and surfers. Just getting there got scary at times, that always makes for a great story after. People travel from all around the world to surf this wave, everyone we spoke to loves the spot.
You will only be out there for an hour or so and you are constantly jumping on and off the boat, there is no time to eat. No food or drinks are provided.
how to get there
There are boats that take you out from most hotels in the Mamanuca. You need to get there by boat, transfers there are available.
Warning: It gets pretty wavy and steep getting out there.
