overall

Coral View was our favorite hotel on the trip. It isn't a fancy resort, it passes for comfortable. But the people here made the experience so enjoyable that our entire group would go back in a heartbeat.

cleanliness

When we first arrived to the resort we had some doubts on how clean the place was. It was the first place we arrived to in Fiji, we switched from our original plan of the dorms to a bure for the 4 of us. The bure was very clean and comfortable. There isn't a lot of space to move around inside of the bure, but we didn't spend any time inside anyway. *Bure is a small house, bungalow.

staff

things to do

This resort offers lot of excursions. You can go to the Sawa-i-Lau caves, snorkeling in the Blue Lagoon, shark diving, etc. The locals on the island also teach how to make bags and other things out of palm leaves, they teach you how to open coconuts using materials found then and there, local dances, and a cava ceremony, to name a few. We would also play volleyball every night with the locals. There is a little beach to tan, we preferred the beach on Blue Lagoon island for tanning and snorkeling. There is no pool at this resort, and no hospital on the island.

price

The price is really good, we upgraded to a bure and it wasn't much of a difference when traveling in a group. The food was more expensive than other islands, if the quality had been better it would have been worth it.

entertainment/nightlife

The staff at this resort made it unforgettable. I would go back to this resort mainly for the staff. They constantly made sure we were doing something. They love teaching their traditions, we didn't have a minute to get bored. All of them are so talented, they transform from being incredible adventure guides to some of the best singers I've ever heard. Leaving Coral View was hard for our entire group, we really love the people.

food

The food on this island wasn't our favorite. Some meals were better than others, but aside from breakfast we didn't love the food. There are 2-3 options for each meal. There is a bar with drinks for purchase. This resort works with a daily meal plan that you purchase when you arrive.

amenities

Basic amenities were provided. Our rooms had shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. Beach towels were available for rent, and bath towels were provided.

Every lunch and dinner the staff came and sang to us, it was amazing. Some nights we would play games with them, others they would teach us dances or put on a dance show for us. You get to know the other guests in the resort, we became friends with them all quickly.

location

Coral View is located in the North Yasawa Islands on an island called Tavewa. It is close to where the famous movie Blue Lagoon was filmed. There are a lot of places to see around there. We started here and made our way down to the mainland.

shopping

There was a mini market on the island (which is not common). There were some snacks, drinks, and other essentials there. Beach toys were also sold.

room variety

There are two dorms, and many bures scattered around the property. All the bures have a little terrace, most with a hammock right outside. It's the perfect place to go and relax.
