The food situation in Fiji is a little hard to explain. If you've checked out any of the accommodation on this website, or on others, you'll see there is always an extra cost of a meal plan, a lot of the time it's compulsory. Most of the hostels (and some hotels) include 2-3 meals a day. There is a menu with a few options, or a buffet style meal, it just depends on where you stay.
I didn't go to any specific restaurants; here I will explain the food situation and which islands had the best food. There are some resorts that will have top restaurants, you can go travel to them to enjoy a meal. I'll explain some places that are worth a special visit.
Cloud 9
This pizzeria and bar is an absolute must see if you are staying in the Mamanuca Islands or on Viti Levu.
It's good for all ages, families were there and enjoying the pizza and snorkeling around. It can also be a party place, and nice area to meet other travelers.
You will need to make a reservation, we were able to get a spot the night before but when we wanted to go back it was booked for the next 2 days.
Food: Pizza, there are a few popular options but it's not huge variety.
Drink: There is a bar serving alcohol as well as juices and soft drinks.

island breakfast
&
snack time
Most of the breakfasts are the same in the different and hotels, especially the ones listed in the accommodation section.
Breakfast:
-Always fruit (oranges, apples, papaya, pineapple)
-Eggs and Toast
-Some places will have sausage or a different speciality from the hotel. Lots of food is made with coconut and it's delicious.
A lot of the islands don't even have a little store to buy some snacks or junk food, there is usually something to eat in between meals, sometimes potato chips, and there are always coconuts available.

Snack Time:
-Coconuts
-Coconut ceviche
-Other fruit
-Bags of potato chips
Best Breakfast Hotels:
-Mango Bay Resort (main island Viti Levu)
-Manta Ray Island Resort
-Beachcomber Island Resort
*Note: Musket Cove has a pretty extensive market so if you want to stock up on some snacks that would be the place to do it if you are staying there or catching a boat from there.
**Note: a lot of hotels have a snack menu available to order from, these are not part of your meal plan.
lunch & dinner
You will have a few options to choose from, some hotels/hostels have 3-4 options, others have more. There are vegiteraian options, as well as an option of fish or other meat.
Lunch and dinner may vary depending on what was caught or what they have that day. The menu usually changes every day.
Best Meal Hotels:
-Bounty Island Resort
-Mango Bay Resort
-Funky Fish Resort (Buffet-syle Dinner)
-Beachcomber (Buffet-style all meals)
