Yes, it's a flight at the end of the day and it can be booked up, and they will need to schedule a time for departure. You must also book in pairs, so if you are traveling in odd numbers (either alone or in a group of 3, 5, etc.) you will need to buy the extra seat. You can e-mail the company and request an odd amount of seats but it's not guaranteed.

what is taking a seaplane?
Take off and land on the water. This is a good way to fly above the beautiful Fijian islands and see the reefs and water from above. It's also a quick way to get around to the islands, especially the ones that are farther away.
what do you to fly in a seaplane?
Leaving close to Port Denarau you can choose from several islands to fly from. You must book in pairs (more about booking below). You can bring your luggage aboard if you are going to stay on another island, if you just want to do a joy ride you don't need much. A boat will pick you up off the seaplane or you will dock the plane. You don't fly very high, nothing like cruising altitude on a commercial flight.

Most of the flights are short, so you won't need food, they are less than an hour even to the farthest islands. No food is provided.
The price is expensive compared to other forms of transportation in Fiji but it's worth it and it saves you a whole day of travel to the farther islands (Yasawa islands). Yasawa islands start from $380 FJD and the Mamanuca islands start from $330 FJD on Turtle Airways.
how to get there
Turtle Airways will send a car to pick you up at the airport or at your hotel and you will go to a private dock close to Port Denarau where you will board the seaplane.
is it worth it?
Absolutely! It saved us a whole day of travel on the ferry. We arrived at the airport in Nadi and flew up to the north Yasawa islands (Coral View Resort). Seeing these beautiful islands from the sky was amazing. Our pilot let me fly the plane, it was a really cool experience.
