Antica Trattoria Papei

Located right behind the Piazza del Campo, this little restaurant is not only located perfectly but it has the best food I've had in Siena. The waiters are so friendly and the place is always buzzing. You must try Pici when you're in this region, it's famous for this type of pasta. It's thick and heavy, the Pici alla Carinalle is delicious here, as is the Papardelle al Cinghiale (photo above). Be sure to try the cantucci con vin Santo, it's a local dessert, not my cup of tea but when in Siena...

What to wear: This restaurant is very relaxed, as are most things in Siena, no specific dress code required.
Antica Osteria da Divo

This restaurant is close to the Piazza del Campo. The inside of this little hole in the wall is gorgeous, it makes for a nice romantic meal, or if you just want to feel extra Tuscan. The food was delicious, I recommend making a reservation, we had to go for a walk before a table opened up for us.

What to wear: Overall, this restaurant was more elegant than some of the outdoor restaurants. It's not very elegant but men I would wear long pants to be on the safe side.
PorriOne

PorriOne is a delicious little restaurant close to the Piazza del Campo. The zucchini flowers were delicious, as was the Pici.
